Matt Davis is an associate attorney practicing in the areas of labor, employment, and municipal law. He graduated from The University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in political science and earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. While in law school Matt represented Pitt in moot court, placing second in the regional round of the 68th Annual National Moot Court Competition and taking the school to the national finals in New York City. Upon graduation he was appointed to the Order of the Barristers for excellence in written and oral advocacy.
After graduation Matt served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Appeals Unit of the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, where he litigated criminal appeals and specialized in police misconduct, frequently arguing before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. He then clerked for the Honorable R. Barclay Surrick of the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, after which he joined a distinguished Philadelphia law firm where he represented private sector clients in complex commercial litigation in both state and federal court. He also represented the City of Philadelphia in municipal matters, including employment, land use, and civil rights disputes.
Outside of his legal practice, Matt is an avid cyclist, guitarist, and enjoys working on antique British sportscars with his grandfather. He and his wife Hannah live in Mt. Lebanon with their dog Salsa and their cat Mia.
